Medicaid has been in the news a lot lately and a lot of people are confused about whether or not they have it because a lot of states have their own health insurance plans with state themed names attached to them.
For example:
Florida has the program split up into several sub-programs: Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Program (SMMC), Managed Medical Assistance (MMA), and the Long-term Care (LTC) Program.
Hawaii calls it MedQuest.
Indiana calls it Hoosier Healthwise, Hoosier Care Connect, M.E.D. Works, or Health Indiana Plan (HIP)
South Carolina calls it Healthy Connections.
Tennessee calls it TennCare.
In the end, all of these programs are federal medicaid funds with a splash of local bureaucracy added to them.
If you have a state run insurance program of your own or through your employer, you can check at the link below to see if your healthcare will be changing or lost in the next few months.
