Both of the professors see a clear difference between people who are hurting, and people who maliciously hurt others. One of the professors consistently reaches out to and welcomes people (nevertheless without compromising Biblical doctrine in the slightest) and the other is a more careful and reserved "we must pray for them" kind of character.
Both of them would want you to have a protected and full life on earth.
The latter professor can have a more firey mood when it comes to people who harm others, but made it very clear in a long sermon that it's not Biblical to "judge" people who are not Christians.

I used to feel that way until I got a rolled up newspaper smacked across my snout by God. Now I know I'm not supposed to feel that way but sometimes it's not easy, especially because so many kids got let down by their parents. I usually just feel sorry for everyone at this point, and leave the details to God - He's more than capable of handing them.

When reading something from the Bible it's just words to you, and only pick out the things that get you angry.
