Metamorpho is basically a walking chemical factory who can change all or any part of his body into most of the elements on the periodic table, shape them, and even form simple compounds. He cannot transform anything other than himself. He doesn't use any kind of device to do so. Because of the nature of his powers, most conventional weapons cannot harm him.
The thing is, he does not enjoy being Metamorpho, he just copes with it, and has been obsessed with regaining his actual human form, which may be unattainable.
Oddly, although you wouldn't think so, his abilities stem from Ancient Egypt,, although he himself is of normal age. It's a little complicated.
