I always get shit about the quality of my instruments, but I can play the piano, guitar, violine, bass, accoardian, and probably several other instruments if I put my mind to it.

Its just hard tossing down several hundred dollars per instrument I can play. I spent over a grand on my sax. I think I spent like 300 on the guitar.

I don't even have an amp, it plugs into my computer.

I mean really, its not like I'm trying to impress anyone, I just play for fun. Its stupid when you have guys who spend 3 grand on a guitar to get sex criticizing a guy who plays for fun for having a relatively cheap instrument. Its not even that cheap, I call it the bleeding edge when you buy things just before the price skyrockets.

I got a knock off, so fuck me I guess.

I don't really know how to properly utilize a whammy bar, or synth buttons, so I think I'm pretty good.

I can play stairway to heaven and songs like that, but I can't play dragon force or any speed metal. Speed and power metal is beyond me.

I have a "piano" its just an electric keyboard my brother got for chritmas in 09. I'm not great at it, I can play "the entertainer" and similar songs, but thats about it.

That is actually a nice guitar, if it's an ltd probably has a nice thin neck for speed playing but it will wear you out quick.
The real deal for "tone" is in the pedals and amps, the guitar itself is more akin to a keyboard for a computer, largely input with a few minor tonal settings.

My bro used to try to teach me guitar with tab from ozzy like iron man. Or with the song don't fear the reaper.

When you went to the guitar store and someone was playing "Smashing Pumpkins - Today" on guitar that was nice.

First guiltar I got was black, like one sheryl crow was using in a tv concert. And as much as I liked it, we had to return it right away, my guardians orders. Either I kept the guitar or I got to go to college/get a pc for college.

One time I could have killed myself or hurt myself super bad. I had my bro's old electric guitar and I put accustic strings on it. And the base man, the base. Where the string attached. The base was bent so much from the strength of the accustic strings it looked ready to rocket off like a sling shot and kill whoever it hit.

Later my bro got a accustic guitar you could also plug in like an electric. But I neved really messed with it much.

It is. I learned on an acoustic that I don't have anymore, I got that electric one because my friends were in a band (eyes of the titan), and although I wasn't nearly as good as the guitarist, I could play some of their songs as a backup if he flaked out.

Like I said, I really only play for fun. Because of my wrists I can only play for about 15 min before my hands cramp up. Thats enough for about 3 songs with some in between time where the hype man would be an idiot and get the drunk audience rolling. I only played for them 3 or 4 times. I just happened to be the bassist roommate, and just happened to know how to do some chords, which is more than most people I suppose.

I'm way better on the violin than I am at guitar,

Guitars? Yeah I got a few.

Epiphone is tuned to B-standard, has thick strings.
Ibanez is in C-standard, also has thick strings.
Samick and Granite are both in regular old E-standard tuning.

The latter three also all have their tremolos floating (like a Floyd Rose). I did that myself.

I rely on my rig for most of my tone, though.

I got addicted to buying used/vintage BOSS pedals for a while. I ran the serial numbers for the three on the left and they're all approaching forty years old. Meanwhile they haven't changed the exterior design on them in just as many years, so brand new ones look exactly the same as decades old ones. My favourite one tho is probably the silver one in the middle; it sounds way meaner than it looks.

And they're all MIJ where applicable, I'm no slouch.
