The game is fucking bland, from the graphics, to the story, to the world-building, to the objectives, and so on. People ate the shit out of Breath of the Wild though, so I wouldn't expect game journos and normies to know any better. It makes some improvements to the formula, like swapping out moves whenever, but I can't get over how fucking worthless the the rest of the game is when compared to any other franchise out there these days. It feels like a bad indie game.

Like in Deltarune where you have the option to les-mode angrygirl and christmasdeer, or go cutefag with sociopathboy and goteboi. It didn't really get in the way of the story, and you didn't even need to go that path.
Then again thats just the world we live in now. You can't even get away with questionable humor in media anymore, since even being a little abrasive in anyway will cause the snowflakes to start screaming and smashing windows. Okami and a lot of games from that era had so many subtle jokes it makes stuff today look like the manila envelope of creativity

Most fun I've had in a while:
Downloaded GZDoom, installed the Brutal mod, then made a custom script to multiply almost all enemies by x10 and have infinite grenades.
Way harder than it sounds, given almost all enemies deliver 1-hit kills.
Brand new AAA games are shit. Mods for old games rule.

I played Detroit: Become Human and I really got pulled into the story. I was playing it at a relative cause my computer is too shit to run it and I could barely wait to go and play again. It's really good. I still need to go play a handful of chapters at the beginning and maybe a second play-through, to see if I still get the same ending, I bungled up a handful of things before I realized I can just exit to menu and restart from the last checkpoint. Also I had trouble with the controller, realized after ~2h of playing that one of the analog sticks can rotate the camera around! And was constantly mashing the wrong buttons during action scenes cause fuck if I know where the X and A and B or whatever are supposed to be.
I do like Doom though, I have a pretty nice full 3D mod that actually looks good. And I still play Quake 2.

Runs at near consistent 60fps with Win7, 4 GB RAM, 1 GB VRAM, Core2Duo @ 3.5GHz OC and Radeon HD 6870. Tells me I need Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, 4 GB VRAM though. Apparently I don't. Resolution is just 1280x800 but I don't have a bigger monitor here anyway.

Back when games didn't have auto updating, if you released a game it had to be stable. Now with most games being digital only, and even physical versions just being a trigger to download the game, they can use players as play testers and release barely out of beta games and just fix them as they break.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example, if they would have released that inital mess mess before the digital download gaming era, there would have been blood in the streets, or at least dorito fingerprints on the barricaded gamestop windows. They released a sloppy mess and the developer was basically like "lol not our problem~ U fix it nerds."

I used to be a big fan of Tomb Raider and was one of the first in Australia to own it, on PS and PC with a Voodoo card. Never quite finished the last level though.
I ended up feeling bad about shooting all of the big and beautiful animals - especially the wolves, dogs and tigers.

I actually am dissapointed now that I look back at this being one of the last decent titles of SNES. PS took over jrpg and everyone crashed at their finish lines too. It was sort of inevitable all RPG games would start to suck after that. Too much work to keep up the pace.
I tried finding other titles maybe 10 or so different ones that sort of mess up other fictional or ancient lores trying to make it theirs. It sucks. I think I would need a realy heavy sedative to even be able to enjoy them anymore tho, playing them is worse than eating a week old steak. Though I like a few rpg elements in action games I think its better just to keep in mind there are other genres that should go to a whole title not just its own category. But touch on most of any popular genres while it makes sense in design. That i guess is called Stylized gaming I don't know.
For instance most minigames in adventuire mode try to do this, but like with GTA if GTA could take on an entire JRPG element then that would be fucking great.

Modded minecraft is still fun. Like Blightfall and Rustic waters.
Forge labs parasite mod playthrough got a lot of attention. I made a pack around the parasite mod before + a wasteland world and its was tough.

Its fun all the new engineering problems added by things like no working jetpack on your starting planet, nerfed power generation EXTREME gravity, HEAVY nerfs on resources you get from refining stone, ores made very rare and hard to find, lots of new enemies, and so on.
If you have any sort of a life you may wanna steer clear as the grind is jacked way up.
