There's a fella who goes by the handle of Chedda who has shows up to our weekly meets.

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for his attendance & participation. Chedda if you're around & see this post. Thank you.

As a southern rebel, as a Furry and a free thinking individual (in so much is possible for one to be so), I appreciate you & you are welcome to come by and post here any time & attend our meets.
Sam Farber is a joke meme to which I have no control over nor does it relfect the views and opinions of lulz.net as a whole.

Thank you for not for judging me for where I am from. It is my heritage & will never apologize to anyone for it. Some assume that because I have refused to renounce my southern heritage that I am by default some sort of racist klansmen. This could not be further from the truth. You have given me & my community a chance. I appreciate that 100%.

Fridge & Mix, I also would like to thank you for listening to my late my night ramblings. Mix is an American furry & Fridge is a british Barnicle furry who came by. I am unsure as to his origins, the how or why he ended up in london. Simple put it is "a long story". So if it is a story he wishes to remain classified I will respect that. But I had good time and thank you to all who attended.

I kinda feel embarrassed. I'm not stupid (Least I don't think I am) but when it comes to stuff like what he was talking about with all the mathematical analytical analysis, It makes my head hurt and I'm just at a loss for words. I guess I have more street smarts than book smarts.

And as for free will, it has to exist because of the fact that we make choices in our everyday lives. If I want to do something, I do it. Simple as that. I know that there are factors that make a person a certain why whether it's genetics, experiences with other people, etc. but a person can make a choice that goes against their "programming". Let's say there was a particular food that I did not like but never tried and one day I decided to eat it because I wanted to at least try it before I came to the conclusion that I didn't like it. If free will didn't exist, I wouldn't make that choice, would I?

Also, I never really got to say my piece on my attraction to Roxikat and shemales. According to John, Roxi was born female but later transformed into a shemale. Her vagina turned into cock and balls. Even though her sexual organs changed, the rest of her stayed the same. She's basically a chick with a dick and it isn't really gay for a man to like those types of girls because while they do have male reproductive parts, the rest of them is female. I know biological sex is a real thing and that there are only 2 genders but when you have some one who expresses themselves as female and looks like a female in my mind is pretty much female. Not biologically, but certainly mentally, physically and spiritually. Blaire White did some really good videos on it,

In order for you to want to do this, some conditioning within you would result in the logic that makes you want to do 'go against your programming', therefore going against your programming is just your programming. At this point whatever logic, nature, or other factors contributed to you making that decision are just as natural as the ones that previously made you make different situations. Remember, when you make this final 'decision' the circumstances are different, so the outcome always has the chance of being different. Just something to think about.

No.3544166

>>3544165

If I could just sum it up briefly. By you saying 'I want to do x', you've already said you're programmed to do x. When you say 'because' you are justifying the reasoning whether emotional or logical that you want to do such a thing. You never do something you don't want in some manner. If you wake up and say 'I don't want to go to work' but you go to work anyways, you're making a decision that you actually want to go to work despite trying to convince yourself that you don't. This doesn't mean that that 'decision' could be made any other way or is going against your programming though, it just implies that you are not fully aware of the extent of your programming. What you THINK you want and what you ACTUALLY want are two completely different things in such a case.

But the very fact that I'm able to make this choice in the first place should be proof enough of free will. If I didn't have free will, I'd basically be a robot that only followed a certain set of programs.

In the case of "Not wanting to go to work today and still going regardless of how I feel", I would choose to go to work because of the fact that I need to make money to pay my bills. I do it out of necessity. I mean, I could choose not to go to work but I also have to take into account that if I don't, I won't make money to pay my bills. My job isn't mandatory but it wouldn't be a good idea to just suddenly quit.

The way I see it, I have the free will to choose to quit. I could get a different job or go into business for myself if I wanted to. We are who choose to be.

No.3544290

Learning new information is still equivalent to changing the inputs of a program. You would expect the outputs to change in response to a change in input.

The problem of free will is that it requires a break in the fundamental laws of physics. You can't make something out of nothing - in order to have your "own" thoughts, they would have to come from nothing, for no reason, otherwise you can always trace a causal chain that leads to outside of your brain and your body, and each of your choices can be likewise tracked back to something other than you.

The only way you can get around that is to claim that your brain is "steering" these streams of cause and effect by some sort of quantum woo, or just classical randomness, but in either case you would be claiming that your choices are random, and therefore not actually controlled by you.

No.3544300

>>3544290

Give this man a cookie!

No.3544315

>>3544300
You can look at it from the other perspective: the only way a will can be "free" is if the will is un-caused. If there is a cause, then that cause is the reason to the will and any resulting action, not the will. The causal chain does not end to the will, but continues on to more fundamental reasons.

The only thing that has, necessarily, free will, is reality or existence itself because it precedes everything else. Necessarily, because no cause precedes it, so it has no choice but to be freely whatever it is, and no other thing has free will because they all depend on it.

Some would be tempted to call "it" God, but they forget that existence precedes essence - first you must exist to be something, hence any God with any properties cannot choose to exist. This is why in Daoism, the following quote is used to describe the Dao:

It is hidden but always present.
I don’t know who gave birth to it.
It is older than God.

So you mean everyone should be utilitarians?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilitarianism

>Although different varieties of utilitarianism admit different characterizations, the basic idea behind all of them is to in some sense maximize utility, which is often defined in terms of well-being

Utilitarianism runs into contradictions and paradoxes in trying to define concepts like "best" and "everyone". For example, under utilitarianism it would be best if we developed a sedative drug that would simply make everyone happy, and then everything else wouldn't matter. They're already happy, so the definition of "good" is fulfilled by noting that they couldn't possibly want anything else.

No.3544347

Alternative version: everyone should be lobotomized.

If you disagree, if you want something else, then you should be lobotomized so you wouldn't want anything else - that would be the best for everyone.

See how simple tricks like "best for everyone" quickly turn into nightmares?

No.3544349

No.3544359

>>3544349
Well, that's what the utilitarians should be trying to solve.

Meanwhile the rest of the people would be trying to solve the problem of how to get rid of utilitarians.

No.3544360

>>3544349
Point being though that utilitarianism has the same sort of moral hazards as the automated paperclip factory that is programmed simply to maximize the production of paperclips - if you let it run, it will subvert its own cause by consuming the earth into paperclips, and there's no more point for it to exist.

Likewise, the ultimate utilitarian solution of "good" and "bad" is to simply to kill everyone. Then there's nobody to complain, therefore everything is fine. Problem solved. In order to not run into these issues, you have to ground your definition of "good" and "bad" into something objective and absolute, but you haven't got any. There cannot be a "best" way because there is no reason why anything is any way in the first place.

People who claim otherwise are simply inventing new Gods, new theologies, and simply calling it by some other name. Philosophers have been trying to define morality through reason for ages, and each version has ran into these paradoxes where trying to apply the reasoning either exposes it as nonsense, or runs into a definition of "good" that actually disagrees with the person in an obvious way - such as finding that the most moral solution would be to either commit suicide, or to kill everyone else, or something alike.
