Great, this shit is in Europe too now.

Do they realize that they're in Germany and anything Nazi related is basically banned?

Enjoy getting furries labelled as Nazis as well, you're in the fucking country they came from and people don't take it lightly there.

I hope they fucking shut down EF. Idiots.

Ok, I'm at a complete loss for what part of this "post" keeps getting "String refused" errors.

Oh. snaps fingers Right.
I suppose its easy to forget how much legitimate terms become casualties of abused slang.

Apparently they're in the EF conbook itself, so everyone is getting one of these ribbons if they payed for the con book. So it has to be a person (or more) from the staff, otherwise those things couldn't get in there.
Also, they're the exact same ribbons as at American cons too. So it's either the same supplier company, or it's this one person shipping them around to friends to distribute them at cons.
The thing is, the fact that they are IN THE CON BOOK this time makes me believe the source lies with EF staff or at least someone they know very well.
In America the ribbons just got put on tables all around the con by unknown people, not actually put into in con books or whatever.

I've seen a furry post about the ribbons, who are also in the EF staff... But with no proof I can't say much.

EF is full of cucks.

Fuck off dogpatch/Deo/whoever else sucks lib smegma dick.

Way to miss the whole point. It's not about being explicitly illegal, its about causing controversy in the one place most sensitive to it (and thus being the least likely place to find it, anyways).

Eurofurence and furs in general would just be better off if as few people as possible even knew of the existence of Nazi furs. This is just going splashing in foreign waters to try to build up a crusade against something that barely even exists.

Just imagine if casual German visitors and barely-furs over there catch wind of it. Buzz starts going around, and fucking tools will gladly harp up the issue as if its a big problem in Furry. Talk about the subject goes wrong -just- right, and people over there start equating Furs with Nazis simply for existing, which could mean real trouble if the government gets wind because if citizens can get it wrong, you know lawmakers will.

Nothing good can come of that tag.

The EF board with Cheetah as representative banned Softpaw magazine before a bunch of greymuzzles (Ted Sheppard etc.) in the US got busted for CP.

They also banned public babyfurs and diapers before the filled-diaper-filled rainfurrest disaster happened.

Now they banned n*zifurs and made a statement.

I think the board is very good at having the common sense of nipping a problem in the bud before it gains too much momentum and becomes a blip on the normie radar, endangering the convention.

Basically an extreme freak watch that sets a limit to the "anything goes" enjoyed at EF, lest the people that are too fucked up and can't keep it private fuck it up for everybody.

The can't keep it private part is the important bit.

can't keep it private

This is GERMANY, for fucks sake. Who's really stupid enough to try and suit up like a Nazi in a convention in Germany these days? And don't simply respond with "Nazi furs, that's who", because that's a stupid answer.

I was seriously considering emailing Cheetah about the issue of someone spreading these tags around and the concern of public controversy if word of them had gotten out. So imagine my surprise when he not only endorses them but is proudly wearing one and distributing them to everyone officially. It's a bold move, and a proud one, but hardly a smart one given where the convention is located.

Germany's already well prone to bringing the hammer down on anything even remotely Nazi related; this is just furry pride proudly waving their dicks in a safe zone while not thinking of the consequences. As usual.

See, I live in an area with lots of people of German ancestry. A good portion of my co-workers are of German heritage. I myself even have a German last name. So I explained to them the concept of "Nazi furs". They think its an amusing but pointlessly edgy concept, yet still understand that for most of them it is merely the concept of cosplaying in the stylish clothing just as much as suiting up in a fursuit, rather than actually following Nazi ideals. But the moment I told them about these tags being distributed in a German convention, nearly all of their faces lit up in shock. We all knew how bad it could get. It's fucking common sense. Something fucking furrys are in notoriously short supply of. The Deutchland public will not be amused to even learn of the concept, and the Polizei even less so.

Keep that shit out of Germany.

Fun fact: cheetah himself told the reg staff to put the ribbons in the conbook. He got the ribbons from an "anonymous" donor. So, this was completley set up by him. And of course nobody from the BOD dares to say anything against it.

Furry Fiesta in the US does the same thing.

- Oppose discrimination by disenfranchising a group
- Oppose hate by hating a group
- Be inclusive by ejecting people, oh by the way, intimidation is not allowed as you are being thrown out of the con.
- No politics, but these liberal politics are allowed and that conservative politics is not
- accepting and inviting, unless it is something we don't like
- it is not important that the groups we tolerate are responsible for shutting down entire cons, but lets ban the right wing because reasons

This is literally 1984 doublespeak tier cringe. I am astounded that the ones that write this stuff are able to keep these diametrically opposing views in their head at the same time.

>>3521873 This was already a /pol/ a thread to begin with.

Or maybe you oughta fuck off back to safe space.

> - No politics, but these liberal politics are allowed and that conservative politics is not

but (ignoring that "liberal" and "conservative" are both within the acceptable range of opinion) this is a standard component of modern political ideology.
when the boss proposes freezing everyone's pay so that it goes down in real terms, that's management. when the union proposes going on strikes, they get accused of playing politics. when the government proposes solutions that won't work within the modern political-managerial framework, it's "the right thing to do", when they propose solutions outside that framework they're being political
everything is political. there is no sliding scale of "politics-not politics". invariably, it comes down to that the status quo is considered apolitical and change political. in the best example: by 1800s standards, the man casually ignoring slavery, perhaps even tacitly participating in it, is apolitical for merely allowing it to happen, while the man rallying against it is bringing politics into it and ruining everything.

>>but (ignoring that "liberal" and "conservative" are both within the acceptable range of opinion) this is a standard component of modern political ideology.

The community has always been tolerant of differing opinions and views - until now. The leftits/communists have decided that intolerance is now acceptable from themselves and are surprised that a major chunk of the community do not support them and push them back.

Tell me, what happened to 'expressing your inner self without judgement' as a core value of the furry community?

The feeling you're experiencing is called cognitive dissonance. Telling people to shut up won't make it go away. The only way to deal with it is to challenge your own beliefs and reject these that conflict with the reality.

In particular, you must realize Liberals are not the "good guys."

>Tell me, what happened to 'expressing your inner self without judgement' as a core value of the furry community?

it was never a core value, it is fundamentally incompatible with a "community" built on commissions and other forms of money-consumerism.
express your inner self without judgement, unless you're poor and not already popular in which case stops paying attention immediately and goes back to talking to san franciscian friends.

That is not true. You are either a newfag or are ignoring the changes to the community. It was different in the past.

The fact the community allowed changes to happen indicates the value was not core, but in-fact disposable.

> It was different in the past.

>>The fact the community allowed changes to happen indicates the value was not core, but in-fact disposable.

No, that means it was co-opted and corrupted. There is precedent for that.

>>statistically there's a 85% chance that by this you mean "i felt i could express myself", which is a very, very different proposition.

Nope. Everyone could express themselves and were not attacked for it.

The nature by which people have chosen to "express themselves" has changed significantly and not necessarily in a good way.
All communities are ultimately a reflection of some facet of the societies they represent.

It was Cheetah, the Chairman himself, that ordered them and had them put them into the conbook. Just to point out, that I am not supporting national socialism, but forcing such a political thing onto people at a con, that has nothing to do with politics is as totalitarian as the regime was. he apparently hates.

I think Cheetah should step down as he has proven not to be fit for the job anymore. With that he was more Nazi himself, than he wanted to fight. It just doesn't belong in the conbook, especially also after not handing out cardholders for free.

Now I know where the money went for the printed roomkeys that couldn't be done.

In answer to your image, it was when the "Burned Fur" movement died.

>No, that means it was co-opted and corrupted. There is precedent for that.

People like to imagine that things were corrupted when the early warning signs of decay were often there from the start. People like a nice clean break where something that showed potentially suddenly went off track. The reality is that usually such potential is purely illusory. Everything from the economics of nerddom to the fluidity of sexuality when dealing with pornographic fantasy rather than real interaction to the fact that rage, as an emotion, creates the most customer engagement on the internet as a result of human psychology was conspiring against furry from the start.

>Nope. Everyone could express themselves and were not attacked for it.

you're going to have to give a date-range here tbh. Before a certain point self-expression wasn't even really the main point of the thing. Then you've got a period where it was notable enough, but the goal of social exclusion was easily achieved by low internet penetration. Then you've maybe got a very brief window of opportunity for avoiding the present before you're commissioning and art-disc'ing your way to 2018. (And even then, it would take a lot of persecution to drive out those forces, so you'd be trampling on a lot of self-expression.)

I mean, I certainly don't think the fandom never had potential, I just think it was always doomed to fail to meet that potential and awkwardly squat the location where something of potential could be built. If you're a fan of anthropomorphics rather than a fan of human beings with anthro avatars, you're fucked.

Burned Furs were reactionary. I don't mean that in the typical political sense, but in the sense of literally being a reaction to something. By the time something like burned furs had come about, it was already too late for them to achieve their goals because everything they were fighting against was already too embedded to change.

>everything they were fighting against was already too embedded to change

Embedded in the culture at large and getting more embedded by the minute. Everything is corrupted. It's not isolated to anthropomorphic character stuff.

From what I remember, the ConFurence was what brought upon the shift. First furries split apart from the trekkies and similar nerddoms and were a rather tame anthro fans, mostly rather repressed and shy. Then ConFurence staff advertized the con at gay bars of California and over a single year the fandom tripled in size, drawing in a ton of "fresh blood" directly from where it was being advertized. And suddenly the shy trekkies were a minority, who had to accept the sudden rise of yiff, or leave the fandom.

that's one baad logo!

Does it ever occur to people to just fucking abandon furry fandom and look for other circles to hang out in?

the problem is that it doesn't just involve finding somewhere else to hang out, but finding entirely new interests. i want a fandom for anthropomorphic animals. despite the malicious lies to the contrary, furry is not that fandom. it's like when you click on an old dead website and it keeps the same name but now it's a blog full of chinese characters.

politics is a new coat of paint on old furry drama. nobody in the fandom understands politics enough to actually be politicised. we might as well simplify it down further and just have people fight over whether they prefer cats or dogs.

File: 2418113_Leosaeta_dtdpage21.png - (1045.11 KB, 1000x1294) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

The truth is Cheetah was always a kind of autist. The fact he can't common human sense social enough to figure out this shit is not needed at all, is just one symptom of that.

Now, even regular people get swooped up in the insane left-right polarization of the past few years, but if you look at his comments over the years, this is at least half autism and Eurofurence had it coming.

Sad, the people in the europe furry communities that were real good have disconnected or opted to not getting involved in furry leadership. Wonder why.

>nobody in the fandom understands politics enough to actually be politicised

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that few in the fandom understand politics well enough to be well-informed. Being politicised is very easy. You only need to know a little bit about an issue.

EF has actually two main problems. That is Cheetah and Dhary from security. Cheetah being just old and apparently autistic, not willing to change anything or even consider other ideas. Dhary, actually not making a bad job in particular, but thinking that any so little detail is always a securty concern, they walk around like the SS in their uniforms and he influences everything, which prevents any improvement on lower levels. Instead understanding securty as a service to other departments, he understands it as the the GeStaPo. Then you have Cheetah again with the famous quote "EF lives and dies with me." showing how despotic everything is. People with ideas get cut down and thrown out. The whole staff level is very toxic and the better fuckbuddies you are, the more you can ignore the own rules. Like the guy that brings his fortune cookie to the con, regardless of being the guy that hosted the dog fucking orgy in the first place and being responsible for the no dog rule, he can have his dog, because he wears a red lenyard.

EF would desperatly need a change of staff. The con is stagnating and each year more backwards. There many cons in Europe, which are far more progressive and I think the NordicFuzzCon, will surpass EF within a few more years.

EF hasn't crashed and burned in an explosion of drama like some recent cons so I give credit to the management.
And when you speak of "progressive" con, I hear diaperfur-in-public allowing cons, or other nonsense such as people in bondage suits in public. do not want.
