>What happened to it being Russian hackers?

I never believed the Russian hacker thing. I've always said it was bullshit. If it was true the @DNC would have let Homeland security or the FBI see their computers to patch the vulnerabilities but they refused and put out a report from their own private company. That report has since been debunked.

Since then the story has went from "Russians hacked the elections" to "Russia used advanced cyber-warfare to rig the voting machines" to "Russia had national a media campaign to destroy Hillary!" to "One company in Russia completely unrelated to the government posted some memes on Facebook and Twitter and that totally swung the election."

Democrats finally released those Russian mind control memes for the public to see how the reds turned America against their perfect, flawless Queen. The truly sinister part of the attack was how most of the ads didn't talk about the election at all!

No, I said the @DNC (Democratic establishment) fucked with the election, which they did, while Hillary was paying them and in control of the party for 10 months before the first primary vote.

The DNC is in court right now arguing that rigging the primary is a first amendment right of their private organization so they don't need to give money back to all the voters who thought the primary was more than just a staged act.

They also moved the California primary to the front of the race and doubled the number of "state super-delegates" so they could declare Kamala Harris the new anointed queen of the party and clear winner of the primary on day 1. Real voters need not apply.

...what? Not to my recollection - it's always been that the Russians sowed disinformation to influence the election, but the voting machines themselves were not hacked.

It's actually worse than that, as 3B surprisingly pointed out in the OP - allegedly, a number of companies with business before the DOJ paid the shell company that Cohen had set up a "consultation fee". Given that it was set up so recently, and who set it up, it's not hard to connect the dots that this may have been converted into a pay-for-play scheme, ironically similar to Trump's criticism of the Clinton Foundation.

Oh, and I'll also add that these are only allegations at this point - no charges have even been filed yet, so this is all speculation at this point.

But if you do, you need to go through due process. My stepdad is Peruvian, but he actually worked to get here. He learned the English Language & applied for citizenship. He did the Responsible thing.

It's not that I have a problem with my Coworkers being Hispanic, it's just they're here & many of them don't know a lick of English and yeah... it does sometimes pose problems in the workplace when you can't communicate directly with your Coworkers.

Let me tell you how this is going to play out.

Right now the Republicans are trying to act loyal to Trump because they need his base to hold on to midterms in November. After that, all bets are off. They got massive tax cuts for the wealthy and as an added bonus they got war in the middle east to help them finally cripple the Russian oil pipeline they have dreamed of for years. Iraq, Iran, Syria, its all about oil.

I'll attach a map, notice how the "Hot zones" of conflict are always within striking distance of the pipelines? Homs and Allepo are constantly in conflict because both sides have interest in keeping their pipelines secured there. Who ever controls the coast control's Russia's oil supply.

It's two nations full of white people killing brown people in brown places for black gold. Once Trump gets them firmly on the path to war with Russia in the middle-east and the November elections are over, the Republicans will turn on him.

They will stop defending him and say things like, "It's unclear at this time. I think it's important that we let the investigation play out and not rush to any conclusions." in public but in private they are going to be telling him, "Listen, this looks really bad and the investigation is not only going to expose you, it's going to expose your daughter. As long as you are president you put her at risk. If you step down we can make it go away, we'll give you some great government contracts, and you'll go down in history as the man who brought peace to Korea."

Why do you think Fox News and Sinclair media are pushing so hard for him to be put on the list for the nobel peace prize? It's a shiny reward for the soon to be ex-president to claim as his "Legacy"

One day, probably some time in Jan or Feb, perhaps as late as march, Trump is just going to walk out of the white house and never come back. Pence will take over and the 2020 race will be Bernie vs Pence if the Democrats want to win or Harris vs Pence if the Democrats are paid to lose.

Bernie=Less war.
Harris=More war.
That's the only thing that will matter to the 1%.

> If you want to come here and live & work here, that's FINE.

I agree; that is fine. The problem is that the US generally doesn't think it's fine, and makes it very difficult for people to do that.

Which is why people spend a lot of money, and make a potentially dangerous journey to come illegally.

> My stepdad is Peruvian, but he actually worked to get here.

My parents are immigrants too. They say it was much easier to immigrate to the US back in the '50s and '60s. One of my mom's friends is an immigrant, but she's been a US citizen for decades (she came to the US back when it was easy to do so). She applied to bring her brothers and sisters over (aka, "chain migration", which Trump wants to get rid of). It took almost 10 years before they were able to come.

I think the US needs to make it much easier to immigrate. Have a job offer? Pass a background check? Welcome to the US! If Americans are worried about "they took our jerbs!", maybe they should think about why a Mexican who can't speak English was able to get that job, while they couldn't.

Immigration only serves the ruling elite, who get the benefit of inflating the labor market and lowering wages across the board. There's already no sensible jobs for millions - the only reason you'd want immigration is to buy "brains", or buying academics and highly trained professionals that you can't get locally.

Even if the rate of unemployment is as low at 5%. Nations need SKILLED workers to fill these.
Not every position companies need are filled properly.

Example, if your nation is producing 20 scientists and only 0 of them is an atomic scientist.. and you need 2? where are you going to get if noone wants to be an atomic scientist? or noone is prepared for that?
You get people from outside, hence the skill temporary work visa.

Unfortunately, companies in the US megacorporations love to replace US workers who want a lot of money for their vast knowledge, with cheaper indian and latin American workers who do not want that much money even if they do not know everything. (anyone remember Disney forcing their experts to train their foreign replacements? even if the VISA is NOT supposed to be for replacing?)

Partially true and partially bullshit.
While they get way more money than they get in their home. They still get abused by these corporations. Example, get promised job, but they get an illegal job that pays LESS and they literally kidnap them by removing their passports or VISAS.

And call the MIGRA (and claiming they are illegal even if they had the papers) if they joined an union or demanded better rights.

>Pelosi said she would seek to negotiate a bipartisan extension of the tax bill’s middle-class tax cuts for individuals, which expire in 2026. The new tax bill would be one that "promotes growth, generates jobs and reduces the deficit," she said.

Or are you fucking dumb that the Government also means MILITARY, POLICE, FIREMEN, and many other services that you rely on.

Also, idiots like you still do not understand that the whole witchhunt against "wealth redistribution" is just plain brainwashing into thinking the idea is bad when its done to the poor. But its allright when done to the rich.

The Rich has been pretty much been pandered and given free money for decades thanks to hardcore lobbyism. Trump is just making it reach astronomical levels never seen before.

The rich want the cake, the plate and the crumbs. And they want you to wash the dish and pay for it once they break it.

From "handsouts", "bailouts" and other bullshit by big corp who have gambled with money, jobs and stability of entire cities/states for a few thousands dollars.. then beg others to pay for what they did while they pay nothing.

Fine example.. the banks... who the CEOs somehow still got paid their insane bonuses.

The problem arent the taxes to the middle and low income brackets.. The corporate tax that was pretty much cut in half PERMANENTLY is the problem.

Corporate is already paying way less than your average job creator, while creating less jobs than they, while not increasing the salaries like they promised.

Aka free money for the top shareholders and executives.

Just look at the dirty forced "offer" by Disney towards the union. They pretty much demand the union be almost disbanded and not funded if they wanted the salary increase they were been promised for more than a decade.

Irony of that Thatcher quote: She increased the UK's overall tax burden and the size of the state in general (as a % of GDP) remained the same despite selling off a ton of state enterprises. Why? Because she cut the high rates of income tax that only the rich paid, and offset the loss by hiking VAT ("Sales Tax" for those of a gun-loving disposition.)

Turns out taking other people's money is fine so long as the people you're taking from aren't rich.

Police and firemen are paid for by the local government, dipshit. And I can guarantee you that Congress will immediately act to make sure the military gets paid in the event it runs out of money. The US federal government will still have tax revenue, it's just that we won't be able to borrow any more to cover our deficit and have to pay off our debt.

What won't get paid are nice but unnecessary frivolities such as Medicaid, Medicare, money to public schools, grants for students and researchers, NASA, etc. All of which I don't give a shit about losing. It's a small price to pay if I get to pay less taxes.

No, she oversaw the greatest orgy of handouts in modern British history. High interest rates in combination with the increase in the value of the £ as the result of becoming a petrocurrency obliterated UK manufacturing for no good reason.
If you want a war on handouts, is the first thing you'd do really to destroy private companies and send unemployment to 12%?
Thatcher fucked those who worked hard to produce something of value so that she could hand free money to the City of London.

this sounds like bullshit but your chart doesn't work so lol.
Even if technically true, i.e. the highest peak in one year, I have my suspicions which I will number in-case you find a working graph.

 1. It's in a year like 1988, in the midst of the lawson bubble, and following the insane self harm of the early-1980s.
 2. It's a single peak which will contrast poorly with the late Major years and Blair years, which had lower peaks but much more consistent year-on-year growth.
 3. It's inferior to growth between 1945 and 1967.

If you're as financially advantaged as you advertise, why do paying taxes bother you, particularly such small-time taxes as those listed when the huge ones like military discretionary spending - which is chock-full of graft intended to keep political dynasties afloat (seriously, do check up on how many generals belong to moneyed families, and how involved those generals are in approving the largest contracts) - can never directly benefit you; or social security, which I'm all but certain accounts for the greatest portion of your taxed income and which, if your boasts are genuine, you won't be drawing from anyway.

Some of those 'frivolities' are arguably unnecessary, it's true, but to one as wealthy as you apparently are, they're also probably functionally invisible to you - I don't make nearly as much as you claim to, and my income is barely scratched by their inclusion.

The crash of Venezuela had actually many facets.

#1 was the overreliance on Oil on a set price.

Including the hard push of the USA against the OPEC to increase the production to REDUCE the price of Oil to record lows.

This was well planned as Iran, Venezuela and Russia were building momentum based on the high price of oils.. and targeted their economies based on a fixed price of oil.

By making such move, the US made sure that they bankrupted or severely crippled the growth of Russian Military and the build up momentum of Venezuela.

#2, putting everything on oil instead of diversifying.

Venezuela unlike Russia and Iran. Had set all their eggs in the Oil Industry basket.
Building and nationalizing things they didn't need with money that was borrowed while building the oil industry.
So instead of paying their debts.. they kept nationalizing shit and the money evaporated when the oil got to records low.

#3 was "keep going forward even if we die" methodology of Maduro instead of fixing their shit.

The next was pure douchebagginess of Maduro. Who pretty much set himself as a petty dictator a la Kim Jong.

Chavez cared, Maduro doesn't.

Zero cash flows and hyperinflation:

With no cash flow and all rich hoarding all the money. There will be no cash flow to keep moving money. It only requires a super-inflation moment, triggered by low circulation, Rich hoarding AND high interest rates to collapse the system. It did so in 1974. By the time Thatcher was elected, inflation was in the (high) single figures.
Also, in inflation terms the UK did worse relative to other countries in the 1980s than it did during the 1970s. (i.e. to use example figures if the UK had 20% inflation in 1974 and Germany had 10%, then in 1987 the UK had 10% and Germany 2%, it was underperforming more in the 1980s.) You know why? No.3507117

Basically, when you try to solve relative poverty, you never get anywhere, so the argument is moot. You have to set a limit - how much relative poverty is good enough?

In other words, you have to set a limit for wealth disparity. If you say for example, nobody should be poorer than 60% of the average, you set a limit to how rich the rich can be. Should it be a factor of what? Three, four, five, ten? Hundred? Thousand?

But oh, then you notice you can't actually do shit with the average person's income - you can barely buy a house and 2.3 cars, and then you're out of money. Some might be able to afford two homes and a bit fancier car. The same argument that the rich shouldn't be so rich relative to the average person also makes every individual in the society positively impotent to do anything meaningful.

No Elon Musks building you billion dollar factories to make electric cars or space rockets - the only thing that is allowed to amass enough money to their name and control it is the government, and they don't give a shit if you want a new bridge or if you have a great new idea for a business - if they don't find it necessary you don't get it.

The argument for solving relative poverty leads to de-facto command economy, automatically.

 1. Inflation was already below 10% under Callaghan.
 2. Even 30% inflation isn't "Hyperinflation"
 3. By those standards Callaghan was successful. He did far more to tackle inflation and achieved a higher average GDP growth.
>forcing lazy garbage collectors back to work

Thatcher created and oversaw persistently high unemployment. She forced people out of work.

She left office in the middle of the third one. (And played a role in causing all of them lol)

But the original conversation had nothing to do with that. IF you have trouble getting food in your table, barely able to get an home and live check by check, you are in poverty.

Getting more money when everything else costs money doesn't magically make you richer.

>Example.. mere 1% people owning almost 80% of the wealth, properties, etc..

So, 80% for the 1% is too much in your book. Good.

Now lets' see what happens when we put that into wealth disparity terms. 1 person out of 100 owns 80 units, and the rest share the 20. The median wealth of the population is going to be approximately 10 units. That means the wealth disparity between the average joe and the rich asshole is about 1:8. So, if the average person's net worth is about $60k, the richest 1% is at about half a million - but that's not actually much at all. You can buy a mansion with half a million, or kick up a small business, but trying to do the big things that cost millions or billions - no dice, too poor - so what's up? If the rich ain't actually rich, who is?

The explaination is that the wealth isn't evenly distributed even within the 1%. Some few have billions, a lot more are just upper middle class snobs who merely think they're rich. It's the accumulation of capital in the hands of the few movers and shakers that enable the large scale private economy to work, and capping the wealth you can personally control (own) at the 1:8 disparity ratio (or less) on the whole population level would mean there are no rich people at all - only mediocre people and slighly less mediocre people - all individually powerless to do much anything in the economy so all the bigger financial acts need to go through some sort of committee (government) and nothing gets done.

The reason why I specified "the wealth you can personally control" is because otherwise the rich people would just write their wealth off into trust funds and merely pretend to own less.

Other nations are already talking about following and the U.S. Dollar will collapse as predicted.

And yet again you reveal your complete ignorance of British political and economic history. Yes, Atlee lost the 1951 election - but do you know what else he did? He won the popular vote. Indeed, he won ''more'' votes than he did in 1950 when he won. You know what else ''else'' happened? The Conservatives promised not to reverse anything Atlee's administration had done.
there's also the nuanced fact that Atlee had effectively been in office since 1940, as the previous National government was discredited so Churchill established a ministry that included a lot of non-Conservative ministers, but now we're getting far too nuanced for this stupid discussion.
>Then the people of the UK hated Margaret Thatcher so much they elected her three times, then the conservatives gained a consecutive fourth win after she retired from politics. Hmmm, really makes you think, doesn't it?

At every single election Thatcher stood in, the combined Labour and Liberal/SDP-Liberal Alliance/Liberal Democrat vote was higher than the Conservative vote (and usually higher than 50% of the vote). Yay, FPTP!

He won in a huge landslide initially, then barely won reelection by the skin of teeth and then pulled a Theresa May by calling another election right after expecting to sure up his own hand. But unlike May, he lost control of the government, ushering back Churchill and the Conservatives for a glorious 13 years.

>In the end, the overall swing of 5.2% was the largest since 1945 and gave the Conservatives a workable majority of 43 for the country's first female Prime Minister. The Conservative victory in 1979 also marked a change in government which would continue for 18 years

actually he did it primarily because the King was about to leave to tour the commonwealth and having the government collapse while he was away would be a bit of a bother, but whatever.

>In the end, the overall swing of 5.2% was the largest since 1945

Almost entirely down to 1974 Liberals going to the Conservatives. (Also, 5.2% is a derisory percentage: Attlee had 11.8% and Blair 10.2%, lol.)

>Attlee lost after a few years in control

He was deputy Prime Minister since 1942. A point you'll no doubt ignore again.

>Thatcher helped the Conservatives and the UK flourish

If you can call 12% unemployment, the obliteration of British industry, the complete squandering of oil revenues, and on the party-political side, ructions and splits that still dog the party to this day "flourishing" then sure, lel.

>Labour didn't get more than 50% under socialist Attlee and the Conservatives didn't either under Thatcher. Never above 50% of the popular vote for either. That's not how UK politics works.

It illustrates why people hated Thatcher even though she won elections. Attlee had 48%, 46% and 49% of the vote with a clear two party system in play making it clear who to vote for to get rid of him. Thatcher had 44, 42 and 42 on a lower turnout and, in 1983 and 1987, two alternative parties cannibalising one another at around 25% of the vote each leaving no effective opposition party.

So GDP growth is the only important factor economically? Okay, then according to your chart Heath is the greatest PM in recent memory, who was a Conservative. Thatcher was built on rejecting everything about the Heath government and the two shared a mutual loathing. When Heath was asked whether he said "Rejoice, Rejoice!" when she was booted out as leader, his response was "I believe I said it three times."

>But if Thatcher didn't have to handle the Winter of Discontent

I don't know why you keep trying to downplay that fact. You know, if you want a return to old-school Labour socialism, you kinda have to beat the Conservatives and actually win elections. Not look in from the outside with your nose pressed against the glass.

Anyway, you told me I couldn't count peak GDP growth, then you turned around and counted peak unemployment. You keep changing the rules and it's like arguing with a creationist at this point. >and lead their party to almost 2 decades of dominance

1979-1990 is 11 years. 13 if we go by parliamentary terms. One decade of dominance. John Major made it almost 2. Blair did 10 years and 13 respectively.

>I don't know why you keep trying to downplay that fact.

Because it doesn't particularly matter. Attlee's government collapsed in part because it had already done everything it set out to do. Thatcher couldn't get rid of the NHS. She wanted to, she even made moves to encourage people to take out private insurance but it didn't work. She left work undone. Give me a 5 year government with 70 year achievements over a 13 year government with 40 year achievements.

>You know, if you want a return to old-school Labour socialism,

I'm not sure why you would presume that was my intent. You may note that my first post and main thrust in this thread has been to point out that Thatcher was shit, not articulate any particular position of my own. That this discussion has been such a clusterfuck even within those narrow confines (you still haven't admitted where you were wrong, and you're still trying to get out of doing so.) should make it obvious why you're not worth explaining a positive position to.

>Anyway, you told me I couldn't count peak GDP growth, then you turned around and counted peak unemployment.

Peak unemployment persisted. While GDP growth went from 2.5% in one quarter to outright contraction in others, unemployment was 11-12% for years. It wouldn't return to pre-Thatcher levels until the late 1990s. This wasn't some one-off thing tempered by a boom elsewhere either, the lowest Thatcher got unemployment was around 6.5%, which is still significantly higher than where it was when she took office.

>She's the greatest PM in post war Britain, as determined by both her triple election victory

Which Blair equalled (And in terms of majorities, surpassed. 43/144/102 plays 179/167/66) and Attlee didn't need.

>over a decade in the office

Which Blair equalled

>and the analysis of historians.

Which Attlee has surpassed, despite having less time to do it and being further in the past and easier to the effect of time diluting his influence on his party. Indeed, the analysis of historians does not show Thatcher to be the greatest PM of the 21st century. That almost inevitably goes to Attlee or Churchill. Thatcher may rank highly but she almost never tops the poll. (Unless you poll Tory MPs instead of historians, but ho-hum.)

p.s. Thatcher was a Europhile until she was powerless and oversaw some of the largest transfers of power from Westminster to Brussels in British history (Single European Act) while in office.

Just a coincidence... right?

Speaking of, it's kind of weird how that insult has all-but dropped off the map after being everywhere last year. It'd be too much to hope that those using it realized that Russia fucked us hard with that election, though.

>All that money and the best thing you can think of to do with your time...

Hahahaha, you cannot be serious. Oh you poor deluded thing, you honestly believe that coming here is the best part of my day? Let's see, I enjoyed a 3 hour lunch with my coworkers as we watched the latest Avengers then blew through about $200 worth of ammo at the gun range. Not that exciting but it is a weeknight (though I bet a far better day than you had) and I do have a job to go to. Now I'm just relaxing with a glass of wine and New Girl on my new $4500 TV while I have a few chuckles at your expense.

>still blaming Russia

No, it was people like you who bought their propaganda. They never hacked a single voting machine. Normally I'd be upset, you did ruin all of my hard work and efforts to get Hillary into the White House. I'd probably ask you if in the couple of years since the primaries if you still haven't gotten laid. I might have had called you a wizard, an incel, a permavirgin faggot who'll never know the love of a woman much less the feeling of a tight pussy around your tiny dick. But now, after Trump bestowed the tax cuts onto a grateful nation saving me personally almost $600 per month in my taxes, I'm actually glad you fucked up my plans. So please take my sincere thanks for helping me see the light and gifting us the current GEOTUS.

actually all of that sounds gay and inferior to how i spent my day, and i can't even remember what i did today.
you're approaching this from the wrong angle not in one way but in two. First, bragging about your wealth is just vulgar, not annoying. What's annoying is people with wealth pretending to be normal people while inadvertently revealing how money has rotted their brain. Secondly, your consumption choices are not qualitatively different to those within the reach of normal people, nor are they interesting. If you want to spend $4500 on a television little more impressive than the off-brand £70 machine in my corner, you've got my blessing. Now, if you wanted to make a point about being an insufferable American with a big wallet you'd tell me how much you spend on furry porn of you and your equally insufferable coworkers.

So basically you smoked some shit weed and jacked off, just like you did yesterday and the day before. I can see how it could all become one blur not worth remembering.

>If you want to spend $4500 on a television little more impressive than the off-brand £70 machine in my corner, you've got my blessing.

See, I used to be poor like you, though just not as whiny and I actually did something to stop being poor. Getting to buy nice things without even thinking about it is just a small part of having money and disposable income. Really, the best part is never having to worry about shit anymore. They could take away Obamacare, or in your case the NHS, and I'd just go buy my own health insurance because I can afford it while peasants like you die in the gutter.

>you did ruin all of my hard work and efforts to get Hillary into the White House.

Actually, it was Obama and the DNC who ruined Hillar's chance to get into the white house. Wapost did a good article on it where they went to one of the key counties in a state she lost by just a few thousand votes and asked why they didn't vote for her. It was basically, We're black and poor. We voted for Obama twice and he just made shit worse. Why would we vote for another democrat?

Should be. People are flipping on Micheal Cohen because they don't want to go to prison. Mikey isn't going to go to prison for Trump so that means Trump's business with Russia is going to be exposed.

It comes down to congress. Once the FBI exposes all the gory details of Trump's money laundering not only with Russia but other nations as well the Republicans are going to have to make a choice to ignore the law and support Trump making America a true oligarchy or follow the law and have him arrested. He's the top of the food chain. There isn't anyone above him he can roll over on.

It may take longer than I expected but I didn't realize they were including the money laundering and backroom deals in the middle-east as well.

It's almost like they are purposefully waiting till after November so the Republicans can pretend to be loyal to Trump right up until after the mid-terms then stab him in the back once the elections have passed.

People tend to forget that the majority of the people investigating Trump are Republicans themselves and have proven loyal to the GOP.

If congress just says, "Yeah, he broke the law but it doesn't matter. That's just how being rich works." then he will get away with it but I really think they would rather have Pence in office. Working with the prince of retards is frustrating for Republicans.
