>not 60 fps

why even care

I'm gonna need a source on that and on this >>3484543 if possible.

OP's post anim's pretty damn good for tweening. Jigglebones might have some real competition here. Naturally, he turns up to flaunt that his animations are smoother, and immediately gets called out on his shit.

What an insecure faggot.

Dunno, but this is

Considering this even warrants a thread, kind of looks like you guys attacking him are the insecure faggots. Especially when trying to claim his stuff is not smooth when it has x10 the frame rate. The comment he left wasn't even that bad.

go play in traffic, jason.

60,000 supporters? Nah gotta be Jason, no-one would defend him. Would far rather listen to 2 jaded shitposters complaining about comments on a dead website.

then why are you here? get lost, mr. clearly not jason.

follow the advice in this post, faggot >>3487190

it takes a truly entitled cunt to bitch about free art

good thing that's not what happened then

Definitely Jason. 60,000 supporters, my ass. Thinking anyone gives a fuck about 60 FPS in this fandom. You only keep bringing that up because that's the best you've got. Admit it, someone did a thing better than you, and you couldn't keep your nose clean.

Jasonafex is a fucktard who needs psychiatric help! The brat belongs in a straight jacket!

Ohh, it wasn't tweened. It was manually moved frame-by-frame with some paint-over touch-ups.

It's actually a pretty interesting technique that i haven't seen used before. At least not to such a great effect.

Klongi's a pretty fantastic animator

Real talk, I hate what jason's existence has done to tweening. I hope it's more about him as a person and not about the method itself, considering Zonk did pretty well with it.

I think it can still be used well, especially if you're not just rigging a single image and warping it.

Yeah, I noticed that being mentioned after reading further later. I'll gladly eat my own words, as this just means way more effort went into producing such a good effect. I hope this guy can keep it up, because he deserves such attention.

Unlike a certain someone...

Zonk uses the same method as Jason. Both are tweening. What exactly do you dislike about him as a person, because he's the most popular?

If it was that good, it would get popular on it's own. Kind of like a certain someone.

Really dude?

Jason's tweening method is taking an existing picture from an artist and making close to everything in it wibbly-wobbly... Doors, walls, furniture, whatever just shakes like its rubber or jello.
Not to mention when he has an "advance" button, it's just the same movement but speed x2, x3, weird disappearing cum, repeat.

Zonk makes everything from scratch (even including audio/sfx) and makes it at least look like a decently animated video with different angles and sequences.

Porn animation sounds squick the hell out of me. I wouldn't call "moaning while fisting a mayo jar" a positive feature.

They use the exact same program dude. Jasonafex has had are made purely for animations multiple times. He also makes his own sound FX.

Zonk speeds up his animations the exact same way, he just hides it by zooming in the camera and moving it around to create the illusion of more content. The only difference is packing more illustrations into one file, hence why there is months in-between his uploads. It's the same shit.

>Jasonafex has had are

Never fully go want to do look more like, my man.

Has had art*

Not really. Zonk actually has the ability to do frame-by-frame Cocksonafex's animation's don't look NEARLY as good as his. Not to mention he does most things from scatch, where Jason rides off the fame of his girlfriend and other popular artist's animaions. Jasonafex is a fucking joke.

Who even gives a fuck that they do the same things and use the same program? Zonk clearly does more, and goes the extra miles and it shows. And again....that ability to create things from scratch is worth a metric ton. If Fex didn't have other artist's work to make wobbly then he'd be fucked, he'd be a nobody. And deep down inside, he knows it and it bothers him.

I like how you had to come back and comment twice, Must really eat away at you.

Zonks work is already starting to look the same, always buttshots from behind. Likely because he can't draw very well. Not to forget that he's retired from animating furry porn entirely now.

Would you bother drawing if you had a constant cycle of free art coming in? He's got nothing to prove to you faggots.

personal experience with zonk - he threw in an entirely new scene into a piece I commissioned free-of-charge because i'd asked if he was planning on having a speed variant of a scene already in place. and he felt like he could do better.

that's an entirely new painting, animated and scripted with sound, that i wasn't expecting nor did i pay for.

he didn't have to add it in. but he did because he has one of the strongest senses of ownership I've ever seen.

oh... and 1v1 me.

you won't

Ree harder, Jasonafex. Don't be jelly because you can't create your own content.

you know,

as somebody who wants to be a professional animator, i think the hate train against JA's legitimacy as an animator is unnecessary.

say what you will about his PR, but as far as being an animator, there are a ton of 3d animators in the industry that have nothing to do with the model creation, or even the rigging process because their skills are specialized to using the timeline and understanding momentum, physics and acting. some of them have never touched 2D. some 2D animators immediately transition over to 3D with no experience in 3D software. Some animators wear more hats than others, others are far more specialized.

fact of the matter is manipulation over time is animation. he may not be a painter or an illustrator, but he's an animator in every sense.

if he animated his own work I would give the guy more credit.

Modern animation jobs are mostly 3D, and employers really only want to see demo reels with solid foundations. Modeling/rigging is more often than not irrelevant to the position.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not arguing that creating art assets isn't a bonus and can be extremely beneficial in adding flexibility. But painting and drawing isn't necessarily "animating" as much as it is, well, painting and drawing.

Going off on a bit of a tangent... traditional-style frame-by-frame is a real beast of a medium where one has to be a proficient artist capable of consistently drawing on-model and have a solid understanding of the twelve principles. In modern 3D jobs, one only has to understand the twelve principles. Software training is a tiny hurdle. At least, from what I've heard.

my new year's resolution is to get a job in 3D

With what portfolio? A 3d animation company will first scoff at your limited range and primary focus on furry porn.

>some 2D animators immediately transition over to 3D with no experience in 3D software

Sure. Because they're real animators who get animation, and can bring images to life with motion. Jason can't.

>But painting and drawing isn't necessarily "animating" as much as it is, well, painting and drawing

Right. This is why your drawings are weaker than your animations (imho)

>my new year's resolution is to get a job in 3D

What kind of 3D animation job do you want? Do you have a 3D skillset? I'll be interested to see how you do, since I'm interested in 3D myself and wondering how I'd break into it. I understand that jobs in 3D are pretty compartmentalized so generalists aren't really a thing (except for indie dev, I guess)

you think these 2d side projects are going on a professional portfolio? Who do you think I am boy ;p Work/play separation. These take up a fraction of my free time.

In a transition to 3d, professional 2d animators are at an advantage because they already have the twelve principles under their belt, on top of drawing skills. All 3d requires is those principles and a little technical skill to work the tools and wrap one's head around the curve editor.

As for the job I want, me end goal is fbf 2d keyframe or storyboard artist, but my skills aren't where they need to be. So my plan is to build a 3d reel and try to get into games, since they're all over the Lake Washington area. I'd like to eventually move up to BC and work in the animation studios up there. Wherever I go I'll never stop drawing.

I'm in the process of building a reel, and I've got an amazing mentor from within the industry who thinks I can get it done before the end of 2018.

And yeah, my drawings are pretty bad at the moment I'm working on iiiit~

Isn't Jasonafex releasing/revealing a 3D game soon? He recently announced getting approved by steam and that his date sim is going on there. You can see him working in Blender on his podcast.

Ain't heard about it. But wouldn't be surprised.
