Thinner lines are useless without variation. You need bold and large lines, small lines, thin lines, etc to create variety. The picture you posted is made with the same line density through-out. Due to the lack of inner lines, you make your art very flat and outlined. This is especially noticeable with your eyes. You have a distinct lack of contour lines within the shape, which also flattens her body.

An example of careful line art is Pukkunn. Heavy lines are used to focus on deep shadows while smaller hatch lines gives emphasis on form. Pukkunn also studies animal proportions well and avoids making them look wonky in the process. This is the last constructive critique I will be giving you, so I hope it helps!!!!!!

You wouldn't feel shit from this, it's still 12 (or 24) volts.
Otherwise people who'd change their car battery would be dead or seriously injured all over the world...

Source: me, I'm a car mechanic.

P.S.: the sparks are because you're short-circuiting + and -, which is basically uncontrollable welding.

Your skin, especially when dry, has a high electrical resistance. Your tongue and rectum? Not so much. You'd feel a tingle similar to licking a 9 volt battery.

No.3449917

>>3449898
Skin resistance is high enough to keep you safe, but DC is actually dangerous because it polarizes the nerves and paralyzes any muscles in the path of the current. Your lungs stop breathing, heart stops beating, etc. and if the current is going through your spinal cord then obviously everything goes limp.

The body resitance through the skin is above 1,000 ohms while the internal, or in this case intestinal resistance can be as low as 100-300 ohms, so a car battery may cause >50 mA of current to flow, which becomes lethal if you can't disconnect quickly, which you can't because you've just made yourself into a Stephen Hawking by connecting a battery to your tongue and ass.

Yes. Phone cameras have this nasty thing of creating darker edges on the photo. So when you try to sharpen or clean up the image, the darkens of the edges starts to creep in. And its nigh impossible to clean out.

On the bright side, in this day and age a flat scanner should be cheap to get.
You should also look up your facilities copy machine for a scanner. It limits your porn making ability, but it usually free and better than nothing.

I still do cute art, but less of it now (keep in mind, this isn't everything nor my best/worst work- just a selection). I started off with it because it was safe and I didn't have to worry about what other people thought. Even if it was absolute dog shit, someone would always leave a nice comment, and that kept me going.

Now that I'm older and more preoccupied with other obligations, I just draw whatever I feel like because that's all I have time for. I can't sit in front of a computer refreshing an art site hoping for an ass pat to keep me going the way I did as a teen.

IDK, TL;DR: Art mirrors life? Mine has changed a lot over the years, and so has what I've drawn.

Is it from memory or reference? Try to block in the planes of the face and worry about the line quality afterwards. You have a bit of the "I've only drawn furries and now I must human" going on. It's just flat and outlined. The proportions look mostly correct though.

Objects have distinct planes and contour lines that guide movement. . You're at the stage where you're drawing the symbols of objects instead of the naturalistic form. The nose and ear consist of very obvious planes of value, so drawing simple lines for them make them flat. Draw what you see and not what your mind assumes it looks like. For my painting class, I made several "ala prima" paintings. As you can see on the pear, it has distinct planes that I blocked in. These are not top-tier examples, but it should give you a better idea about the solidity of shapes. The bird thing is next to a bottle...for some reason.

There are more examples of ala prima. The shapes are slightly wonky because I suck at painting, but the colors and planes on the object are striking. You have to think of what you're drawing in terms of the roundness of the object and the planes/edges that reside within. Overuse of outlining and symbol-making flattens the drawing and makes it uninteresting.

For ears, you need to practice texture and value/contrast. Ears have very dark recesses in them and your ears have the same line hierarchy and density as the rest of the head. Again, it comes down to studying negative space, value and the concept of pushing-pulling edges with darker areas.

Lopin seems to be bi, but his features and intellect gives me the impression he is a mutation. A point between male and female while not being hermaphroditic. Sounds like Uncanny Valley, where your brain rejects something that looks almost-but-not-quite human.

On the left you have a painting of a human Judy Hobbs. Pleasing, right? It looks just like an attractive women (ignoring the deep magenta eyes), no animal features are visible.

On the right you have cartoon animal Judy. The eyes, especially, are round and big, each taking up 1/4 of their side of the face. It’s clear this is an anthropomorphic bunny. Pleasing, right?

In the middle you have an anthro rabbit, with animal ears, muzzle, and very deep ridge between lips and nose. But the eyes look human, monolid / almond shaped, roughly sized and positioned where they’d be on a person’s face.

You see this, and your mind can’t decide what it’s looking at. It finally concludes it’s a misshapen, deformed person, and this triggers all sorts of subconscious revulsion from your cortex. (This isn’t a reflection on your art, of course, which I think is otherwise solid. It’s primate psychology.) Hope this helps!

TL;DR: animal features + human features combined = brain saying “Do Not Want”.

No.3453227

It's uncanny because the eyes are emotionless and lack a shine. In terms of features and structure, it's not wildly different than Judy. It's just the eyes are deadpan and the mouth is not quite expressing a smile.

Actually, the eyes are all fucked up from every point of view. They pupils and irises are way too large for the eyelids, which makes it seem like they don't belong together and the face is a hollow mask with two spherical eyeballs floating inside it. The head is also too small to contain the apparent size of the orbs, so it looks weird. Here's a quick shoop with the pupils shrunk down slightly for comparison.

TL;DR, the eyeballs are too big for the head, while the eyelids are either too small for anime effect, or too large for the face.

You need to rethink this model. Don't get discouraged, but it is not appealing professionally or in general style. It seems as though you are modelling off the cuff with the classic artistic "drawing symbols and not what you see" problem instead of using proportion rules and toon anatomy techniques to get this going.

I would scrap this an start anew. That isn't meant to be harsh but if you step back and look at that model for what it is it's too long of a road from where you are and where you should be to save it.

Also when you start again don't just plop an animal head on a realistic human body and try to size it like a human skull, it just doesn't work.

I agree that it needs some more work but I generally do tweak a lot in the later stages. I'd like to keep it semi realistic but still stylized enough to avoid the uncanny valley...I do feel I did a better job with my lioness though.
It's probably that the lioness' muzzle is far enough from the human face to push it over the line.

>>3453325
Thanks, I kept the pupils large on purpose. On one hand to avoid too much white space which usually translates to crazy eyes and on the other to keep it closer to real rabbit eyes which are usually about 96% iris.
I will play with the eyelids a bit more and see if I can make it more appealing though.
