my friend figured out how to fix this oekaki issue some of us had been having here with drawing. like, remember the whole eraser tool fucking up all the other tools when you draw thus not being able to finish your picture, etc?
you need to upload this here to the oekaki (it's a php)

well it's ninechime.com which is the official place for oekaki and support problems, so it can't be some sort of virus or anything like that. :/
I tried looking around on their forum but they didn't have a thread about it, it was just form their site directory. I'm assuming my friend (who owns the other oekaki I go to) just PMed a mod there and they linked it to her.

I have no idea why Java is implementing DirectX...that would break cross-platform support. There seems to be another way to go about this: simply disabling DirectX support in java. Here is a link:

Direct3D is a portion of DirectX, so no mistake. Why the 3D rendering engine of directx is screwing up oekaki is the question...

Bumping this to explain the real fix I used to solve my problem:
The problem is with JTablet. When the JRE is upgraded, if you had JTablet installed it hoses any application which utilizes JTablet, which includes ShiPainter. Re-installing JTablet will fix the problem. ONCE AND FOR ALL

Were there any breakthroughs on how individuals can fix the issue with the eraser.. for selecting any tool rendering all changes invisible (unless you refresh the page) as opposed to server changes? I've tried wiping Java and JTablet and reinstalling them in respective order (so JTablet is reinstalled after Java) and that still doesn't seem to address the issue.
What kind of changes can I make on my end to address this? Everything I've found via Google seems to be about the server hosts changing stuff on their end.

program a panic-button on your keyboard/mouse that minimizes everything.
