Goodnight, sweet prince. Thank you for allowing me to surreptitiously discover my sexuality by digging through my father's closet while he was at work.

I once found a huge paper bag of your pornos when I was 11, at the recycling center for a boyscout project. By the time I was 12, it looked like a sack full of hairy mcdonalds ads.

RIP

91 is a good run.
Dude had pussy in almost every decade he was alive.
Lived long enough to see print mags die before him, even.

Rest in pussy sweet prince.

He slowed down when he was around 80 and settled down with a wife.

Viagra gets invented.

Boom! Divorce! He's fucking around again!

Our hero.

I was about to start a thread on this, good thing someone beat me to it (and that I looked). I legit shed a tear. I wish I had my old man's skin mags, but he was too much of a prude to have any, either that or his mom tossed them out with his baseball cards. Nah, I stumbled upon Playboy when I was 9. Some scuzzy but cool dude running a small yard sale sold me some old Playboy Party Jokes books from the mid-60s for a buck each. I still have them, right here. Most of the jokes are rather old-school, wordy and intended for cocktail party crowds - they haven't aged well, but it gave me an idea of the times and audience they appealed to. This one fits us well enough tho -

Mary had a little sheep
And with the sheep, she went to sleep
The sheep turned out to be a ram
Mary had a little lamb

Lame jokes aside, I grew an affinity for older issues of Playboy, mostly thanks to the long held issues of friendly adult neighbors to satisfy a curious young boy before he found out these things...."other ways". Miss December 1968 always topped my list. They had a more natural look back then.....less superficial, less fake/bad boob jobs, less shaving, less makeup overkill, and less airbrushing. I still remember when I discovered a video of one of Hefner's Playboy Roller Disco parties from the 70s. So many celebrities, so much ass to go around. What a time to be alive. While I'm still looking for that one, I found a different one that actually aired as an ABC special (?!) in '79

Respect. I remember a time when respect could indeed get you far with a woman. Respect alone ain't nearly enough anymore, that's for damn sure. Swear to hell, they will test the everloving shit out of that respect.

He was a great man for making PlayBoy, but after that he did not really do much (at all).

Plenty of people are content to live off of and live with their one great accomplishment. In fact, not many of them can do so for as long as he lived, either. Money and fortune are an easy thing squandered.

Most people would argue that Hugh's in a better place now... but fuck that. Why would you want to go to heaven when you got the playboy mansion?

R.I.P, though.

Except he did, he was an advocate to give fair share to minorities, both in writing and in models.

Are you two retarded? You think those women tolerated being his girlfriends because of the "respect" he had for them? No, I'd say it had something to do with his fame and the millions he had in his bank account.

He did a lot through Playboy.

He was publishing gonzo journalists - journalists that don't just take neutral observer stance documenting what they see without ingerence, but participate actively - camera on one shoulder, loaded rifle on the other.

He was publishing articles exploring domains deemed taboo by the rest of the press. He published sessions with models of all backgrounds. He supported intellectual approach and shunned "dumbing it down"

Playboy was his soapbox - the naked girls were a lure, but the flesh was in the articles - and it was shaping the public.

He also wasn't a blind "progressive" hooked on propaganda of diversity. When homosexuality was getting fashionable and broadly accepted, he wouldn't shy from articles how heterosexuals in homosexual-dominated areas face the same discrimination homosexuals used to face; a true pro-equality editor, not just another combatant for minority supremacy.
