America will handle it.

i'm on the south east coast and other than a bunch of rain and leaves/branches all over the street there's not been much

I didn't even lose power

meanwhile I'm here in sarasota and everyone is shitting their pants because they all thought it was going to hit miami and not us, so no one did anything

I work at publix, and let me tell you, I don't even wanna tell you

when news got out that we were closed for saturday and sunday, about an hour afterwards and from then on there was a practical continuous riot in our store of people fighting over canned goods, screaming at us for "price gouging water" when all that was left was fiji and voss, it was nuts. Eventually the Distro Centers' emergency water shipments reached us and we just started straight up pulling the pallets off the truck and dropping them on the sales floor for people to pick over

waiting to get flooded by the aftermath, because early pioneers told the native americans to fuck off when they decided to settle here.

confirmed Steam lives in Indiana.

>>guys pays attn to meeeee

no more than anyone else who makes words happen. You'll notice I just paid attention to you.

I watch several american news channels here from europe and holy shit you americans must be dumb.

Every press conference you get told the most basic things. It amazes me that they did not just say that you have to breathe.

I also had to laugh hard that 40+ mph scary winds are so frightening that no emergencies would come to help. That's just 8 Beaufort. Pussies.

You're welcome.

Dumbest thing to come out of this, at least so far -

TL;DR - some Facebook group of people wanting to shoot at the Hurricane prompted the Pasco County sheriff's office to issue an official statement telling people not to do it, as it could send the bullets right back at them.

"Over 99% of the people out there have common sense and are listening, but we in law enforcement deal with the 1%, so we are trying to get the message to them," explained Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Sadly, some are legitimately doing that shit.

I think the saddest part was.. that more than 40,000 people said they would be firing "at the " hurricane.

This just shows how the requirements to own a gun are so low. They let idiocracy level idiots own guns.

Americans choose to live in the path of hurricanes and tornadoes.

I live 187 miles from the closest coastal point a hurricane can make landfall at. Its routine to deal with the aftermath of such storms, usually winds, rain, power-outages. In some extreme cases flooding and tornadoes. Let me ask you this, Mr. Fucking Wizard, at what point does a person choose to be in a tornado or hurricane area? I concur that people that build their houses close enough to the ocean they can hear the waves crashing is asking for trouble. But the people that live 50 or 100 miles inland, when was it there choice? The dwellers on the beach aren't the smartest, but they're rocket scientists compared to your walks-on-your-knuckles mentality.
